Technical information

Installation

After you have registered for IDNV participation, you can download the IDNV programs you will need from our downloading area. For the installation to follow, please use the corresponding setup wizards (Setup.exe).

During the installation of the IDNV programs, the necessary files, databases and folders will be copied to the folder of your choice on your hard drive. We would like to point out that the program affects neither your Windows operating system nor other software stored on your hard drive. Should you wish to uninstall the programs, all components will be completely removed.

Alternatively, you can obtain the IDNV programs as a CD-ROM. The installation can be done as after the download, but please beware that additional costs will be charged for the CD-ROM.

Data exchange

The data exchange happens within the IDNV system with the help of high-grade transmission technology via the internet. Our specially developed security components guarantee a well protected transmission.

In addition to the authentification and encryption process, the data is compressed during the transmission. Thereby, the information is forwarded in the most compact way possible, therefore the duration of transmission and costs are minimal and IDNV participants with a simple internet connection can also carry out the data exchange without any problems.

System requirements

The programs of the IDNV software group are compatible with all Windows operating systems from version Windows 2000 (XP, Vista, 7). In principle, it is also possible to use the IDNV on older operating systems; however, a trouble-free use of the IDNV cannot be guaranteed due to potentially missing components within the Windows system (see below).

Please find below some guidelines towards additional system components recommended for quick and efficient operation of the IDNV:

  • Standard Windows PC;
  • Operating system: all versions 98 to 7.
On Windows 2000 and earlier you may need to install GDI+. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  • CPU 800 MHz/256 MB RAM
  • Hard drive from 500 MB
  • Graphic card with 1024x768 pixel
  • Internet connection for the online-update and sending orders
  • CD-ROM drive necessary for CD-ROM installation

Memory requirements

The IDNV databases have compression technology that highly reduces the volume of the data during processing. Only when the data is displayed is it unpacked on-the-fly. The memory requirements of the programs and databases are therefore reduced to a minimum. An additional advantage of the data compression is that both the installation and the use of the programs are quicker and more efficient.
